Most therapists see a lot of clients that are dealing with anxiety. Anxiety may be something that is genetic for them, or a result of something traumatic; or likely both. I recall before my Rapid Resolution Therapy Training I didn't really know what to do with a client who had anxiety. Especially a client with severe anxiety and panic attacks. After my training I was ready and willing to assist clients with their anxiety. After some practice with RRT I found I was actually effective at treating and clearing anxiety and panic attacks. (Yes you read that right CLEARING panic attacks!)
What quickly became obvious to me was how fearful many of my therapist friends were about treating clients with anxiety and panic attacks. At the time they had not trained in RRT and would come to me upset and concerned about working with clients with such issues. I was actually confused on how to support and help my friends because here I was Certified in RRT but they hadn't even considered doing the training yet. They also refused to refer their clients to me because I no longer took health insurance and my sessions were always scheduled for 1-3 hours. They insisted that clients would not be willing or able to afford such sessions, nor were they likely to be willing or able to stay in a session that may last 3 hours.
Well boy have their minds changed. Most of my therapist friends have to some extent done some RRT training. Those that are in private practice are now Certified Practitioners and those that are not currently but are looking to in the future have noted they will likely continue their training in RRT. So if you are a therapist finding that many of your clients have anxiety in one way shape or form consider Rapid Resolution Therapy Training.

Completed it, defeated it
I recently returned from the Level 1 training in Clinical Hypnosis with Rapid Trauma Resolution. Upon my return I had a conversation with Holly Craig, LPC who had also attended the training. At some point we began to discuss how therapists can be traumatized just by hearing the trauma that their clients have survived. In fact I have heard from numerous clients how previous therapists had glazed over their trauma, sat there as if in shock, or just offered them pamphlets about such trauma. To which Holly had this to say: "The thing that they survived isn't bigger than what you can do with it. It's not even happening to them any more."And that's so true.
For one the client sitting in front of you has survived that traumatic event. Not only survived it but made it into your office. It is in no way helpful to become upset ourselves, as therapists, about what happened to them. Clients have told me that therapists getting upset over what they have survived isn't helpful. They find it upsetting and they loose trust in the professional whom they came to for help.
In Rapid Resolution Therapy we learn to stay present with the client, create a deep connection, and understanding, so that we can effectively, painlessly, and quickly resolve the negative effects of the trauma that the client has been through. In doing so the RRT session will have a much bigger, and positive impact upon your client than the very thing they survived.
So when they leave they will have completed it and defeated it!

Certification
Of course part of our mission at the ISSV is to treat survivors of sexual violence. Another part of our mission is to train mental health and medical professionals in Clinical Hypnosis with Rapid Trauma Resolution (or RRT).
Since becoming Certified in RRT these are the only trainings that I attend. As many of you know maintaining one's license as a mental health provider means you have to attend so many hours of continuing education each year. Why not attend a training where you learn to clear and resolve such things as trauma, PTSD, anxiety, anger, grief, guilt, and depression?
Trainings in RRT are experiential, informative, and entertaining. (Dr. Jon Connelly is one of the best story teller's I have ever met.) You can learn more about the trainings we provide here.
I also think we have one of the best communities of trained professionals around. We regularly refer to each other. When I say refer to each other I mean we refer our family and friends; if we have a client who has a loved one in another state who needs RRT we provide referrals for other RRT therapists, and other RRT therapists have been known to see other RRT therapists. We provide each other with a lot of support, encouragement, and suggestions. Once you become certified you can participate in bi-monthly teleconferences, we also now have a linkserv community going. (This is a whole new thing to me so I'm still trying to wrap my brain around this new addition to our community) I've had certifications other than RRT and this community has been the most supportive, friendly, and helpful one that I have ever been a part of. And we also cross promote each others' accomplishments; so say one of us publishes a book we are out there talking to everyone about that book.
I'm pretty sure that if your reading this and you are in the mental health field part of the reason you got into this field was to help people. I know I did. Once I started training in RRT I realized that it is possible to help people heal, clear, resolve issues, and thus transform lives. Seriously, consider coming to a training! You can review possible training locations here. (because we do trainings across the United States) or you can call 1-800-587-2623.

Sexual Assualt Awareness Month
Did you know that April is Sexual Assault Awareness month? The link I provided is the direct home of SAAM website, there you will find the history of SAAM, statistics about sexual assault, and more. This months IRRT newsletter I wrote an article about how RRT was very beneficial for a 12 year old who survived being molested 2 years prior to her first RRT session. (feel free to read this month's newsletter) This month the ISSV also dove into the world of grant proposal. An organization called GOOD Maker is having a grant competition. We put our name in the basket. The proposal had to be approved by GOOD, and it was, now it's up to public voting for the prize to be awarded. We would greatly appreciate more votes...first you have to join GOOD; which is free. Then you can go to our direct link here and vote. Next you will have to verify your e-mail address and then the vote is accepted. If we win the grant money will go to further fund training more clinical professional in RRT as well as treating survivors of sexual violence who otherwise couldn't afford such treatment!
Thank you for your time and support!

1/12 Tampa Level 3 training
Well the latest Level 3 training has come and gone. At the last minute I (Tara- Executive Director of the ISSV™) decided to attend this training. I'm very glad I did. I was finally able to meet some of our Board members whom I had yet to meet, had a chance to meet with a committee member to discuss some ideas for the ISSV™, and not only that I met so many amazing Certified Practitioners and was given many many opportunities to improve my RRT® skills.
I'm often asked at Level 2 trainings what we learn in Level 3. The whole process of RRT® is so different from what we learned in graduate school and what we are encouraged to do out in the field that no matter how many trainings I go to I continue to learn and Level 3's are, in my opinion, the best. It's a chance to learn not only from Dr. Connelly but from his senior trained practitioners and Master Certified Practitioners.
The other question I hear regularly is whether or not there's a Level 3 workbook...and so far no. In fact this weekend we were asked what we wanted to improve upon and that's here the training's focus was.
Typically at trainings I take tons of pictures. We had this beautiful conference room but the back wall was like one HUGE window so the pictures I took look terrible. I thought instead I'd share a rare picture I have of Dr. Connelly and myself.
Have a fabulous week! Tara- Executive Director of the Institute for Survivors of Sexual Violence™

Other RRT related trainings
As I am gearing up to attend the Level 3 Rapid Resolution Therapy® from January 20-22 in Tampa (and this training is going to be a full house) it reminded me that there are Certified Practitioners who are out there doing some RRT related workshops.
Courtney Armstrong, LPC does several one day workshops that are RRT related and I wanted to give you a look into what she has going on for the beginning of 2012. Take a moment and check out her workshop page. She is an amazing speaker and I highly recommend attending a training with her!

Did you know that next year, 2012, will be the Institute for Survivors of Sexual Violence™'s 10th anniversary? Yes the ISSV™ will be 10 years young and growing. Recently I have had several wonderful Master Certified and Certified RRT practitioners volunteer to help me get the word out to a much larger audience about the ISSV™ both as an educational institute and as an organization that provides survivors of sexual violence who are financially challenged the cutting edge treatement that effectively clears them of their past experiences.
So here's to 2012 and the following years being bigger and better than the 10 previous years!

Training in Clincal Hypnosis with Rapid Trauma Resolution®
This cutting-edge approach to healing and positive change utilizes precise multilevel hypnotic communication. Unlike other approaches to trauma treatment which require the client to experience painful emotions while reliving the trauma, ClinicalHypnosis with Rapid Trauma Resolution® clears the effects of trauma gently and painlessly.
The exact traumatic event needing resolution is brought to mind even if it has been repressed or forgotten. The client realizes fully and through every facet of their mind and body that these experiences are finished and gone. Negative emotions are replaced with energy and peace and self-destructive behavioral patterns disappear.
FACILITATE HEALING AND TRANSFORMATION
Emotional problems, destructive behaviors and relationship difficulties can seem impossible to change when fueled by traumatic past events. Unresolved emotional trauma can even increase vulnerability to medical problems. Attempting to bring about enduring change without eliminating the influence of these past events would be like trying to repair the structure of a building by applying a coat of paint.
Clinical Hypnosis with Rapid Trauma Resolution® facilitates transformation that effects emotions, beliefs, behaviors and even perceived identity. Unconscious conflicts blocking desired change are brought to light and resolved. The mind is cleared, organized and optimized. Negative habits and painful emotions are replaced by positive feelings and actions. Blocked energy is released. Healing takes place. Desired change is automatic and lasting.
